This is a 5-way, 3-position, direct-acting, spool-type solenoid valve. When coil S1 is energized, the spool shifts, allowing flow from port 3 to port 4 and from port 2 to port 1, while blocking port 5. When coil S2 is energized, the spool shifts, allowing flow from port 4 to port 1 and from port 3 to port 2, while blocking port 5. In the neutral position, all ports are connected.
